Marriage by The Masters

For our first production in Santa Fe, we presented Marriage by The Masters, an evening of three one-act plays by great playwrights of the Western hemisphere. How He Lied to Her Husband by G.B. Shaw, A Marriage Proposal by Anton Chekhov and The Forced Marriage by Molière, all focused on the subject of marriage and getting married. Directed by Brenda Lynn Bynum, the cast consisted of Corbin Albaugh, Patrick Briggs, Mairi Chanel, Monique Lacoste, James Jenner, Kelly Kiernan, Hamilton Turner and John Warner Widell playing a variety of roles throughout the evening.

Performances were at The Adobe Rose Theatre in Santa Fe, NM in July 2017.

The Water Engine by David Mamet

The Water Engine by David Mamet was originally written as a radio play for National Public Radio, it was first staged in 1977 by St. Nicholas Theater Company in Chicago, Illinois. Utilizing its origins as a radio play, our production, directed by Brenda Lynn Bynum, was staged as a combination of a radio production and a theatrical play. Where the emotions were heightened and the radio could no longer contain the story, the scenes broke out into a theatrical performance.

The story centers around a young inventor who has created an engine that runs on water. When he tries to patent it, he soon discovers that there are forces out there that don’t want that to happen. A thriller as only Mamet could pen.

The cast consisted of six terrific actors playing a variety of roles. The cast was as follows: Nicholas Ballas, D. Davis (V.O.), James Jenner, Matthew Montoya, Talia Pura, Tallis Rose, and Karen Gruber Ryan. Performances took place at Teatro Paraguas in February 2018.

The Good Doctor by Neil Simon

The Good Doctor by Neil Simon is a delightful evening of vignettes based upon a selection of short stories written by Anton Chekhov. The tones range from farcical to tragicomedy and everything in between. Directed by Brenda Lynn Bynum, the cast included Vaughn Irving, James Jenner, Matthew Montoya and Tallis Rose. Performances were held at Teatro Paraguas in March 2018.
